  • Biography
    I am a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The focus of my research lies in the intersection of Materials Science and Data Science. I seek to incorporate novel data mining and analysis techniques in order to speed-up the rate at which new materials are deployed into the market. The implementation of my research has as an ultimate goal to reduce by half the cost and the time that is needed for a new structural material to be deployed into the market. This will be achieved by developing novel algorithms and computational models that allow for a much more computationally efficient and less time consuming screening process of potential candidate materials for a wide variety of structural applications such as the automotive and aerospace industry. I have innovative way of thinking, great ability and my unparalleled analytical skills allow me to rapidly come with a plan of action to tackle any research issue I face. I am also diligent and resilient to see a plan through while also being able to identify when is time to re-think, step back and change direction of approach. My interpersonal skills have allowed me to effectively lead the groups in the projects in which I am working on and my entrepreneurial spirit has allowed me to align professional opportunities with my own research direction. Before starting my PhD, I obtained my Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a significant portion of my Master’s studies were performed in Georgia Tech’s satellite campus in France. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated with the Highest institutional honors. I am also fluent in Spanish, French and English and have conversational skills in Mandarin.
